SETN Construction Helps Open Four Miles of I-24 Five Months Early
On Monday, January 28, travelers of Interstate 24 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, gained some traffic relief as additional lanes and a new interchange were officially opened. After Rogers Group worked on the $38.5 million four-mile project for 22 months, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) was able to open the roads for use five months earlier than expected.

Among the challenges presented to SETN construction crews:
  • Active daily traffic of over 66,000 vehicles on I-24
  • Lane closures permitted only at night
  • Unstable soils requiring adjustments in project design
  • Very little grade change along three of the four miles requiring additional storm drainage
The stone for this project was supplied from Rutherford and Deason quarries. To everyone involved, congratulations on a job well done!
