On Saturday, May 17, the “Keep Fayetteville Beautiful” group held a cleanup of the Elk River. SETN’s Randy Austin, Mark Scott, Matt Nash, Nelson Anderson, John Adams, Mike Smith and Benny Christian joined other area volunteers for the project. Traveling the river by canoe, volunteers collected trash on the banks. Afterwards, volunteers met back at the S. King Park, enjoyed grilled hot dogs and received a T-shirt. Not only did the crew help clean up, they had fun too!!
This project logged 35 hours of community service toward the SMA’s goal of 100 hours to commemorate 100 years of Rogers Group.
