As RGI approaches its formal centennial kick-off next week, SMTN wanted to help Tennessee’s Maury County celebrate the county’s bicentennial. To do so, Rogers group is helping to build the handicapped-accessible Tony’s Trail found in Maury County Park in Columbia.
Named for former County Parks Director Tony Scott, who first envisioned a park with a handicap-accessible trail, Tony’s Trail is scheduled to be completed in May 2008 and will feature gardens designed to appeal to all five senses.
So far, RGI has donated 150 tons of stone and other materials for a water feature on the trail that will appeal to the sense of hearing. In addition, Account Manager Devin Farmer and Division Sales Manager Dave Adomyetz have lent a hand in the construction of the feature.
“We knew that this was something our company could step up to the plate and do,” said Devin.
Maury County Parks and Recreation Specialist Sonjalyn Rine said, “The Rogers people are celebrating their birthday by giving our community a wonderful gift.”
An article about this project appeared in the local Daily Herald newspaper.
