SMTN Clears the Way for Safety and New Athletic Fields
The Maury County School Board recently gave Columbia Central High School the green light to clear approximately three acres of overgrown land adjacent to the school that had become both an eyesore and a serious safety issue. This area will be home to new practice fields for the school’s football team. Funding for the project, however, was extremely limited so they needed community help.

SMTN Account Manager Devin Farmer heard about the project and brought it to the attention of Division VP Randy Butler. RGI volunteered to clear the area free of charge, and thanks to the dedicated efforts of Account Manager Devin Farmer, Area Production Manager David Wilson and Columbia Quarry Superintendent Bryan Wolaver, the work is complete.

Central High School no longer has to worry about their property being a dumpsite or, far worse, a place for predators to conceal themselves. Thanks to the efforts of Rogers Group and others in the community, the varsity football team has a new practice field, the junior varsity team now has its own practice field, and the existing practice field becomes the home of Columbia Central’s soccer team which previously had to leave campus and drive several miles for practices and games since they had no on-campus facility.
