On Thursday, September 4, three RGI employees helped members of the next generation of the construction work force by hosting a quarry tour. But that’s not all. The employees took advantage of this time to reinforce the importance of reaching out into the community.
The Young Constructors Forum (YCF), a subgroup of the Associated General Contractors of Tennessee, is a group of rising leaders in the construction field. The goal of the forum is to give emerging leaders an opportunity to network, learn specific things related to their role in construction and serve the community.
NMTN Sales Rep. Benny Shepherd, Account Manager Michael Holt (both members of YCF) and Whites Creek Superintendent Russ Matthews hosted a tour of Whites Creek Quarry. The price of admission: food items to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
By hosting the event and collecting the food items, Benny, Michael and Russ logged a total of six hours of community service toward their SMA's goal of 100 hours to commemorate 100 years of Rogers Group.
