Rogers Helps Fund Cheryl Swinney Tribute Scholarship

Judy Bowling presented a donation to Cheryl Swinnney to help fund the Tribute Scholarship that has been established in Cheryl's name.

Cheryl has been very active in the Gallatin community through her participation in Leadership Sumner, CASA, the Sumner County Literacy Council, Gallatin Business and Professional Women, Tennessee Organ Donor Services, and the Regional Board of Zoning Appeals as well as the students she works with as a job coach.

Cheryl is currently awaiting a liver transplant. We want to pay tribute and honor Cheryl's life work through the establishment of an endowed scholarship through the Volunteer State College Foundation. This endowed fund will exist in perpetuity and the interest income will be used to fund the scholarship each year. The scholarship will be a lasting legacy to the character and qualities explified by Cheryl and a recognition of student achievements to carry these forward.
