Together, we create opportunities for people to succeed: Rogers Group is sending volunteers and donations to help Nashville recover from the April 16 tornadoes.A crew of 15 volunteers have been working at the Salvation Army to pack boxes of food and cleaning supplies to storm victims, and then delivering them out into the hardest hit neighborhoods. We also delivered a check for $5000 from the company to help provide more food and supplies.
Another crew of combined Nashville and Northern Middle Tennessee workers are in East Nashville with customer trucks, a loader, and helping hands to clear some of the thousands of downed trees. Sharing our commitment to safety, we are providing hard hats and reflective vests to other volunteers and residents working with us.
Another group of volunteers has been helping Second Harvest food bank collect and distribute food. Rogers' Nashville employees raised over $1100 for Second Harvest, which the company is matching. Rogers Group has also made a pledge of $5000 to the Red Cross, and our volunteer efforts will continue.
In hard-hit Lawrence County, members of the Rogers team in that area are pitching in as well, cleaning up trees and debris to help neighbors' lives get back on track. We encourage other businesses to send employee volunteers on company time to help in the recovery effort -- it's the right thing to do!
