Bambi, Big Bird and Peter Pan found new homes with more than 500 children, and Mid-Central Division lent a hand.
On Saturday, June 21, Administrative Coordinator Teresa Walker and Community Relations Coordinator Judy Bowling volunteered for a United Way Day of Action, a Books for Babies Sort-a-thon. Teresa and Judy worked with other volunteers to fill bags with books and helpful information to engage children (infants to five-year-olds). This information included tips on health, growth, development, nurturing and safety. The goal of the program was two-fold: 1) to get a bag of five books to each and every young child served by the agencies for their use at home and 2) to restock the supply of books in the partner agency child care centers.
By helping out, Teresa and Judy logged four hours of community service for the Northern Middle Tennessee SMA.
