In Sumner County, Tennessee, Station Camp Elementary is among the new schools built to handle the influx of new children in this fast-growing area. The school, which is just one mile away from Gallatin Quarry, needed an area of its playground turned into a blacktop for an outdoor basketball court and other activities. Because the school is new, its parent-teacher organization didn’t have the money to fully fund any sizeable project. So, PTO Co-President Kristy Shapiro contacted Rogers Group to see how they could help.
A Rogers Group paving crew jumped into action. While materials for the surface were made available at RGI’s cost, the labor and equipment use was donated.
Rogers Group employees Jim Richardson, Clifton Grant, David Austin and Jackie Jenkins logged 25 hours of community service during the work on this project.
