New Neighbors in Cross Plains, TN

The following letter was sent to neighbors of our new Cross Plains Quarry site:

"As we hope you have all seen, we are well underway making progress at our new Cross Plains Quarry site. With the official opening day approaching soon and with the many tasks we have left to complete for this to occur, we wanted to bring you all up to speed on our plans.

New Road out to 31W

Beginning Friday, January 29th we will begin cutting the new road from immediately under I65 out to 31W. This road will be the route that all our Customers, Employees, and Local Traffic will use when entering, leaving, or traveling by our new quarry site. This road will make it possible for the current Guthrie Road from 31W to the area near I65 overpass to become a private road for the current residents.

This project should take us approximately 30 days to grade and place the base stone. It is our intention to complete the asphalt paving of the new road in Spring (as weather permits) and complete the new cul-de-sac on "Old Guthrie Road" at this time (including repairs and resurfacing as per our agreement with Robertson County Highway Department). We also wanted to let you know that NO customer traffic is planned to be allowed west on Guthrie Road, unless making a requested delivery to a homeowner in that area.

Quarry Opening

FEBRUARY 8, 1999. That's our goal! We hope you will see our ad in the local papers next week. Although we love to have visitors, we've haven't got all the "finishing touches" done yet. We're hoping for the weather to cooperate with us over the next 45 days, so that we can have a SPECIAL GRAND OPENING for all our neighbors, customers, and employees.
