Every child should have a safe, loving and permanent home, but many do not. Each year in Tennessee, children become entangled in the juvenile justice and foster care programs because they are victims of abuse or neglect.
Tennessee Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a nonprofit organization which establishes and supports programs across the state that screen, train, and supervise community volunteers. CASA provides an innovative, cost-effective approach to a very urgent crisis. Community-based programs recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteers to provide individualized advocacy for these innocent victims and an independent source of information for the judge who must decide their future.
The Sumner County CASA programs hosts a Kids for CASA fund-raiser each year.
In addition to donations and sponsorship from companies like Rogers Group, another essential element of the CASA organization is the enthusiastic and energetic support of the many volunteers who help ensure children's voices are heard.
