Rogers Group Asphalt and Road Construction Team
Completes Briley Parkway Project
The last leg of Briley
Parkway (State Route 155) in Nashville, Tennessee was opened
December 19 with a ribbon cutting ceremony by officials from
Rogers Group, Tennessee Department of Transportation, and state
lawmakers.
The 1.6 mile section runs from I-65
to I-24, completing a loop around the city. The $16.6 million,
four-lane project started in November of 1995.
The road is named for the
late Mayor Beverly Briley, who was Mayor of Nashville when
construction of the earliest section of Briley Parkway began in
the 1960s. Brileys daughter Diane Easterling and
grandsons David and Rob Briley took part in the ribbon cutting.
"The contractor,
Rogers Group, has worked hard to have this road completed by
Christmas," said TDOT Commissioner Bruce Saltsman at the
ribbon cutting. "I know that everyone here is very happy to
have this last section finished and open."
