Inroads Interns Join RGI

KarianFour Inroads interns are spending their summer working in Rogers Group's corporate office: Kairian Walter, Niketa Grizzard, Romeka Campbell, and Freddie Moultry. As a sponsor, Rogers Group supports the Inroads mission through the Internship program and believes in helping the interns become true achievers.

Kairian Walter, a returning intern, is working in Human Resources for her second summer. She is supporting activities such as staffing and hiring. A sophomore at Tennessee State University, her majors are English and Spanish. She was recently accepted to the National Student Exchange Program and will be attending Hunter College in Manhattan, New York. Her goal is to become a Human Resources Department Director.

NiketaNiketa Grizzard is working in the Information Systems Department with the assistance of Deborah Crowder, Sherry Slocum, and Debi McCarver. A junior at Tennessee State University, her major is Business Information Systems. She is also a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and the Golden Key National Honor Society. This summer Niketa will be working on a project developing a digital library of images, and writing and researching articles for the RockPile and Conveyor.

RomekaRomeka Campbell is working in the Accounting Department assisting Jane Parks and Margaret Pentecost. She is a graduate of Stratford High School and will be attending Tennessee State University this fall on an academic scholarship. While in High School, Romeka placed fifth in the Regional Accounting Competition held at Kenwood High School. She is currently working towards receiving a license as a pharmacy technician.

FreddieFreddie Moultry will be working in the Production Services Department. He is a graduate of Maplewood High School and plans to attend Tennessee State University with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration. He recently was awarded a presidential scholarship and is a current member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in his hometown, Atlanta.

Inroads is an organization geared towards diversifying the workforce. Its mission is to develop and place talented minority youth in business and industry and prepare them for corporate and community leadership. Founded in 1970 in Chicago, Inroads started with 25 college interns and 17 sponsoring corporations. It has since grown to 52 affiliates, with more than 7,100 high school and college students and more than 930 corporate partners in 35 states. The Inroads headquarters is in St. Louis, MO.
