News School News At Algood Elementary School's  Earth Day we assisted the school by donating $500. The school and Rogers Group recently developed a nature trail together. We have partnered with this school for 3 years.Algood Elementary School: We were happy to help with some financial support to the schools and host the Kid-Safe Program, School Book Fair, Easter Egg Hunt, Teacher Luncheon. In addition, we conducted some quarry tours for the children. BonDeCroft School in Sparta: We conducted some quarry tours for the children and sponsored some events. We were happy to help White County Seniors have a Prom night which was fun, safe and drug-free. Dekalb West School in Liberty enjoys a new walking track courtesy of Rogers Group and other community volunteers. The Algood Quarry is located near an elementary school. Rogers Group recently installed a flashing school zone sign. We turn the sign on to direct quarry traffic away from the school zone area when children will be present. Community Events Rogers Group donated materials and employee time to help build the community playgrounds Algood Kids Kingdom and Smithville Green Brook Community Playground. For the 4th consecutive year, the Rogers Group is a major sponsor for the Lady Cavs Basketball Golf Tournament. We were pleased to also sponsor the YMCA Youth Baseball, Algood Little League, AAU Girls Basketball, Cookeville Angels Little League, 1997 Coca-Cola Golden Eagle Scramble, 1997 Annual Pepsi Challenge Diamond Nine Golf Scramble, and the Advocacy and Resources Corporation. Through our participation at the Upper Cumberland Home Builders Show we help to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Weare proud to have made donations for other area good causes as well. All Eastern Middle Tennessee quarries are members and support their local Chamber of Commerce. Sparta supported sports programs for Babe Ruth boys and girls baseball teams and local basketball. Employees participated as volunteers in the Little League Challenger Division which assists disabled children to play baseball. Celina supported sports programs for Celina High School and Little League. We sent children from the Clay County 4-H Program to the State 4-H Congress. Liberty supported sports programs for Dekalb County High School and Little League. |
