Rural Clay County (population 7,236) is one of the poorest counties in Tennessee, with unemployment rates as high as 28% in past months. The county is economically distressed with the loss of factory work such as Osh Kosh, Celina Apparel, and Clay Sportswear.
Our Celina quarry serves the area and tries to help out. The Cattleman's Association is providing the labor to build a livestock pavilion but they needed the support of the community to purchase the required materials. The pavilion will benefit the youth of the area to give them a place to hold 4-H functions, rodeos and other activities. It will also benefit the local people by giving them a place to hold livestock sales and related functions. In return it will generate more revenue for the area.
Rogers Group contributed $5,000 to this worthy cause. Helping the residents of Clay County help themselves is an outstanding example of "together we create opportunities for people to succeed."
RGI has been serving the Clay County area's crushed stone needs for nine years.

Several of the Cattleman's Association members serve RGI employees. Rod Gamble commented that we often contribute to our community and appreciate the organization that thanks us in return.
