WSM-FM radio broadcast a report July 27, 1999, that 60 elderly people in the Nashville area were in dire need of air conditioning due to the extremely high summer temperatures. Receptionist Susie Petty heard the notice and asked Executive Secretary Diane Lawbaugh if RGI could do something to help. A manual check was approved, processed, cut and signed in less than 2-1/2 hours.
The check was delivered first thing the next morning to the Metro Action Commission. The Commission called WSM and challenged other local businesses to match the Rogers Group Donation. A living example of TOGETHER WE CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO SUCCEED!
