Sixteen from WKY Help Local Habitat Project
On August 9, sixteen members of the Western Kentucky SMA gathered to help out with a Habitat for Humanity house located in Gracey, Kentucky. Hopkinsville Aggregate Field Office Clerk Angie Jones worked with local Habitat Director Jessie Quarles to coordinate the work.

Construction Manager Gary Johnson and SMA Manager Lori Harper secured donations of rock, fill dirt and equipment for the project, and the team went to work. One group worked outside the home, mowing, removing debris, leveling out the lot and digging trenches for utilities. The other group worked inside the home cleaning and painting the entire interior of the home. Mrs. Quarles remarked that it would have taken days to accomplish the work that the RGI employees completed in half a day. In all, the group logged 86 hours toward the SMA’s 100-hour goal. Thanks to all who worked to help the Bishop family complete their home!
