In the spring of 1997, Christian County was hit by a heavy rainfall of over 13 inches within a 24 hour period. As a result of such a tremendous amount of rain in such a short time period, over 58 Christian County roads were washed out and closed.
Rogers Group and the Christian County Highway Department worked hand in hand to open the roads as quickly as possible for Christian County residents. Rogers Group opened up the quarry on a 24 hour a day basis for the entire weekend to assist Christian County highway workers hauling much needed stone to washed out roads. The Kentucky Department of Transportation assisted the local effort by sending additional haul trucks and workers.
"We work closely with Rogers Group routinely" said Chuck Chambers, Christian County Highway Department, "it was a perfect example of their willingness to step up to the plate when a customer needs service."
