Operation Santa has
always been a favorite of Bullitt County Stone's employees. Each
year we give a donation plus collect and help sort can goods and
other food items into baskets to give to the needy at Christmas
time. We are looking forward to doing it again this year!
As 606 food baskets are being prepared for another Operation
Santa giveaway, the generosity continues to pour in.
Hillview mayor Richard Terry was proud to collect over $3,000 in
checks and toys for the 11th annual project of the Hillview
Police Association.
While the program receives money throughout the year by operating
vending machines in city hall, Terry said it is very expensive to
put a week's worth of food in each of the 606 baskets.
Roadblocks and various fundraisers are held but Terry said the
business community is just outstanding.
In the past week, Terry and Operation Santa coordinator Bud
Eadons have been busy.
One stop was at the Kroger store on Mud Lane. Store manager Cliff
Wheatley presented city officials with a check for $1,000. Another $1,000 check
came from Lori Harper and Rogers Group. Rogers Group helps with
preparing the baskets, too. Another regular contributor is Kenny Hester
and HTP. Once again, Hester gave $1,000. Kroger Stores is an
active contributer as well.
