The IAAP Teachers' Workshop was held July 30th through August 1st at Starved Rock State Park, along the Illinois River. RGI sponsored one teacher and was also part sponsor of the Bar-B-Que. With the workshop at the park the teachers were given information about the geology around them and information on the minerals that are so valuable to everyday life.
After the hands-on sessions the group was able to tour a quarry, see a shot, core drilling, where cement is made and how it is processed. It was very hot but the teachers didn't seem to mind, as they were experiencing something interesting.
