Last year, Community Relations Coordinator Susan Daniel visited one of the South Newton Kindergarten classes. Armed with videos and activities she held the students’ attention then took them on a tour of Newton County Stone. Due to popular demand, Susan was asked to make the same series of presentations to all of the kindergarten classes this time.
The three-day event was spread over three weeks, included “Rockman” and “Dancing with the Detonators” videos and activities such as birdseed mining and culminated in a tour of the quarry.
The students had a great time!
Through this event, Susan logged Northern Indiana’s first 10 community service hours toward their goal of 100 hours.
