In June, Rogers Group joined with other aggregate companies in the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association (IMAA) to host the 13th annual Rocks & Minerals in Modern Society educators’ workshop held in Fishers, Indiana. Workshop session topics included the mining process, uses of aggregates, and fossils. Forty-four teachers, six of whom were sponsored by Rogers Group, attended the IMAA event that included a tour of a local quarry.
One month later, Rogers Group helped sponsor another teacher workshop, this time in Illinois, where our NIN locations are members of the Illinois Association of Aggregates Producers (IAAP). The 11th annual Illinois Teachers Workshop was a three-day event in Rockford informing educators about the importance of rocks, minerals and mining in everyday life by allowing teachers to tour active mining operations and by providing information, tools and activities they can take back to their classrooms.
