After a strong finish in the Olympic Junior Regional Championship, James Reeves, son of Sieboldt plant operator, Melvin Reeves, was selected to compete in the Junior Olympic National Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska. The event attracts top runners from across the United States. The competition was held on December 8.
James, a senior at Bedford North Lawrence High School, placed 55th out of 185 cross-country runners in his age bracket (17-18 year old). Over 2,200 runners competed during the event.
James has been competing and setting records in cross-country and track since junior high school. He plans to compete in track and field while attending college next year.
