Block’s James Nichols Helps Local Students Get Feet Wet
Recently, Rogers Block SMA Manager James Nichols helped disadvantaged high school students down the stream . . . and navigate the waters of life!

River School is an outreach program of Friends of the White River, a not-for-profit environmental and community service organization. At the school, students learn through hands-on experience about stewardship, water quality and environmental science. During the day, many of the topics turn into life lessons for the attendees.

For many of the students, this expedition offers them their first encounter with the White River — or any river for that matter. James assisted with a recent program for students from Arlington High School that focused on life and work skills. In doing so, James logged six hours towards Block’s 100 hours of community service to commemorate 100 years of Rogers Group.

Arlington High School students receive a safety overview.
