Central Arkansas SBU's Greenbrier Quarry is the recipient of the Sentinels of Safety Award from the United States Department of Labor.

They received the award for their outstanding safety record in 1997 of 31,013 employee hours worked without a lost workday injury. The SBU and the quarry are proud of this record and their continuing efforts in promoting safe working conditions.

Doug McConnell and Ed Elliott served the crew a pizza lunch and presented them with the framed certificate and letter from the Department of Labor.
