On Saturday, May 31, employees from RGI’s Central Arkansas SMA gathered on the shores of Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to celebrate 100 years of Rogers Group.
The highlights of the event were simple: great food, lots of door prizes (including $100 cash), a beautiful location, plenty of activities for the kids and, of course, about 45 happy employees.
While the adults ate, talked and played bingo for prizes, children bounced in the moonwalk, blew bubbles, ran around their parents feet and shot water guns at each other.
The temperature maxed out at only 88 for the day, but the humidity made it feel much higher. But never fear, coolers full of bottled water were on hand to help everyone stay hydrated and refreshed. Lunch, catered by Lindsey’s Fine Foods, consisted of fried catfish, pulled-pork barbecue, sides and some of the best fried pies ever (just don’t tell my wife’s grandmother)!
Congratulations to Debbie Creswell, Natalie Newsome, Jim Poston, and everyone else who helped pull off one fantastic event for a great bunch of people!
(Given their distance from other Arkansas locations, employees in the northwest portion of the state will hold their own party later this year.)

Conway Asphalt Water Truck Driver Randy Hunter, Area Production Manager Jim Poston and CAR Construction’s Justin Orrell help setup the inflatable for the kids.

SMA Manager Terry Sossong and Area Controller Debbie Creswell called ticket numbers for door prizes. The first one given was $100 cash!

Go figure: Children of RGI employees like to play with rocks!

Several employees enjoyed playing horseshoes.

Everyone had a good time at Central Arkansas’s 100-year party!
