On Friday, March 9, state and local leaders gathered for a special ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the widening of a 2.2 mile stretch of Highway 41A. The larger 12 mile project connecting Tullahoma and Shelbyville is the result of almost 15 years of hard work by area residents, businesses, and community leaders.
Gerald F. Nicely, Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner, was given the honor of cutting the ribbon. Also present were the Tullahoma Mayor Troy Bigsby, State Representative Judd Matheny and Manchester Mayor David Pennington. RGI representatives present were David Denton, Steve Moran, Bob Bellar, Sylvia Hargis and Dale Cathey.
