ED ELLIOTT NAMED AGGMAN PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
BY AGGREGATES MANAGER MAGAZINE

Ed Elliott, Director of Safety for Rogers Group, Inc., was named 2004 Aggman Professional of the Year by Aggregates Manager, a trade publication for the aggregates industry. The award is given each year to an individual who has made outstanding contributions and exemplifies deep commitment to the aggregates industry.

Elliott, has also been recognized as the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association's 2001 James M. Christie Safety and Health Professional of the Year award and is currently serving as chair of the organization's Safety & Health Committee.

Ed's dedication to safety in the aggregates industry is evident to almost everyone who comes into contact with him. Ed's mission is to make sure that people are going home from work safely.

"I believe that every morning when Ed's feet hit the floor, the first thought in his mind is, 'What will I do today to improve the safety of the employees, first at Rogers, and second, in our industry?" says Don Williamson, President and CEO of Rogers Group.

In just over four years, Ed's impact is evident with a two-thirds reduction in on-the-job injuries at Rogers Group. Elliott credits this significant decrease in injuries to the company's approach to safety and the safety culture that has developed over the past four years. It is a commitment to "achieving a zero injury safety culture by implementing all Rogers Group safety principles without compromise."

A 22-year company employee, Ed is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and lives in Bloomington, Indiana.
