Rogers Group, the nation's largest privately held crushed stone producer and active in highway construction and related products, has acquired a quarry and asphalt plant site in Bedford County, Tennessee, from Hamilton Haulers, Inc., according to David Denton, Rogers' vice president of Southeast Tennessee operations. This is Rogers' tenth new business addition in ten months.

Denton said the 141 acre site is located on Highway 231 at the Rutherford County line. Rogers Group plans to begin site work immediately, building stone crushing and asphalt plants as well as office and equipment shop facilities. The business will operate as Deason Quarry, and expects to be in production by Spring of 2000. The new quarry and asphalt operations will provide approximately 5-10 new jobs and provide construction materials to the rapidly expanding Bedford and Rutherford county markets.

Rogers Group has been successfully executing an aggressive growth strategy over the past ten months, as evidenced by this development and the following acquisitions and new business openings:

The new operations have created opportunities for a total of approximately 200 people to join Rogers Group.

The growing 91 year old construction products company provides crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt, highway construction, concrete masonry, and structural precast products.
