Rogers Group Experts in Crushed Stone, Aggregates, Gravel, Asphalt Paving, Road Construction, Quarries for 100 Years

Craig Huffine, Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association’s
1999 "Miner of the Year"

Craig Huffine, Rogers Group, Inc., Superintendent of the Greene County Plant and Knox County Plant, has been named the recipient of the 1999 IMAA "Miner of the Year” award in recognition of his distinguished achievements and contributions to the Indiana aggregates industry. This prestigious award was presented to Craig in January at IMAA’s Winter Workshops. IMAA presents this award annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the aggregate industry. This recognizes the individual’s distinguished achievements in the aggregate industry in Indiana and service to the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association. Individuals nominated for this award exemplify the very best in their profession and continually bring credit to the industry and to their community.

Craig began his career with Rogers over 27 years ago as a scale operator at Rogers’ Bloomington Quarry. Through hard work and dedication, he advanced through many positions and now manages multiple plants. He also participates in IMAA as a member of the Environmental Stewardship Council. He has "raised the bar" for other producers of aggregates in producing quality products and giving excellent customer service. Providing a safe working environment is of the utmost importance to Craig, and over the years he has seen his plants earn many safety awards. He has also worked to preserve each location as close to natural as possible. He has won NSA’s Environmental Eagle Award and enjoys watching a bald eagle nest at one of his plants.

Craig has been involved in developing the youth of his community by coaching Little League teams and A.A.U. basketball. He is also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.
