Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association presented "Excellence in Mining Awards" and "Safety Awards" during their Winter Workshops held on February 5 & 6, 2003, at the Indianapolis Marriott North Hotel. Several Rogers Group, Inc. Indiana plants were honored and received awards.
The "Excellence in Mining Awards" are presented annually to IMAA producer members who excel in the following categories: Community Relations, Employee Relations, Safety Activities, and Environmental Programs. These awards are sponsored by the Public Information and Education Committee of IMAA to promote pride in the programs at local plants and quarries. Gold, silver or bronze certificates are awarded to those plants that have successfully met the requirements specified to receive recognition at one of the three levels. Gold Award winners also receive an "Excellence in Mining" flag or banner to display at their plant. The following Rogers Group plants received 2002 E.I.M. Awards:

Rogers Group, Inc. was also recognized by the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association for their many years of outstanding safety records of no reportable injuries to plant personnel. The awards were presented by Steve Richetta, North Central District Assistant Manager of the Mine Safety & Health Administration. These plants were recipients of the 2002 IMAA "Safety Awards":

Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association is a trade association representing crushed stone, sand and gravel, slag, expanded shale and cement companies in Indiana. The current membership consists of 48 producer companies with 175 plants and quarries that comprise 92% of the aggregate production in Indiana. Associate members number 54 companies who provide goods and services to the producers. Indiana ranks 13th nationally in the production of crushed stone, 13th in the production of sand and gravel, and 1st in the production of slag.
